Meet Our Minister
| Dear
Friends,
Each
week all across the country visitors come into our Unitarian
Universalist churches and exclaim, “I am Home! This is the place
I have been looking for!” Northwest
Unitarian Universalist church is no different.
Each week we welcome visitors who have been looking for a
religion that is for them and we are it.
Ours is a liberal religion that seeks to encourage you on your
spiritual journey. We are a
faith community that puts the emphasis on your faith and your
journey. We are about
friendships and support as we worship, teach, learn and work to
create a more just and peaceful world.

We
are a welcoming congregation where diversity is valued.
We welcome people of all races, ethnic backgrounds,
genders, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, and yes, even
religions. Bisexual,
lesbian, gay and transgender persons will find a welcoming home
with us. African Americans, Asian Americans, European Americans
and all others will find a home with us.
People who have found it difficult to fit into a particular
faith -- Christian, Jewish or Muslim -- will find a home with us.
Older people, children, married people, single people, people in
same gender families and everyone in between will find a home with
us.
This is the gift of Unitarian Universalism, our diversity. This is
our message to the world: it can be done. We can learn to live
together. Ours is a faith
that is willing to grapple with the issues of learning to live
together. We create worship that honors reason and holds sacred
all the world’s religious traditions. We create dialog that
honors all viewpoints. We create a governance structure that is
democratic and inclusive. We
create a community that affirms life-enhancing behaviors and
quality in all our relationships. Ours truly is the faith that
many have been looking for, longing for.
As
a life long Unitarian Universalist I am committed to this faith
and to this community. My
personal goal is to give witness to that which is life enhancing.
With this church community and our Unitarian Universalist
values my ministry is rich with opportunity and growth.
My hope is that you, too, will find a home that encourages
your growth and supports you on the journey.
Best Wishes,
Rev. Kimi Riegel
