Sunday, June 12: Board Approved Budget to be voted on at Congregational Meeting

The budget adopted by the Board of Governors will be voted on at the congregational meeting on Sunday, June 12, 2011. One way this budget differs from prior years is that the Board opted not to allocate the program expenses prior to the start of the church year, but to determine where those resources can best be used to meet our shared goals for the year.

The proposed budget has a deficit, and the board felt it was important to remind the congregation that we do have reserves in our General Fund to cover the budget deficit. Neither the Board nor the Finance Committee wanted to present a deficit budget, but we believe it is the best option to help the congregation move forward. It is our hope that we can come back to the congregation midway through the fiscal year with recommended revisions to the budget that will reflect a stronger financial reality.

Sunday, May 22 and/or Sunday, June 19, 11:00 am-Noon

The Consitution and By-laws committee invites you to a series of focus groups. One will be held on May 22, right after the service from 11 am-Noon. The second one on June 19th, same time, same place. Grab your coffee and meet in the board room for the purpose of reviewing and updating the Constitution and By-laws. See the proposed changes below.
