Imbolc 2008
We tried our hand at conducting this ritual with no script and no plan. We were disappointed at how few people showed up for it. Due to the low turnout, the ritual was short. 1 This is what we ended up doing.
Altar:
- Direction candles
- Athame
- Flower basket with corn dolly and priapic wand
- Setup for salt blessing
- Large chalice(empty)
- Small chalice(with salt)
- Pitcher(with water)
A pan was set up, off the floor, a few feet from the altar. The pan contained sand and a candle. This candle was used as both Goddess and God candles.
Order of Service
- Quarter calls
- Invocation of the Goddess Bride and her consort
- Discussion of the meaning of Imbolc
- Jumping the flame(The candle in the pan)
- Food blessing
- Devoking of the Goddess and God
- Dismissing the quarters
- Closing song: (holding hands in the Circle)
May the Circle be open, but unbroken,
May the peace of the Goddess be ever in your heart.
